Do not think for one moment that you know what a good keyword is, because you do not. When you first begin your search engine optimisation campaign you need to go after a relatively small keyword category. A relatively small search result on the Google search engine would be a one to ten million results for a keyword or keyword phrase search.

Do not choose a keyword phrases such as 'home based business' and hope to get first page ranking and maintain that ranking on the search engines. That would take you at least six months of continuous SEO focussed work. You need to apply the following procedure when conducting a website marketing campaign if you want to be effective and successful.

Use the selector tool that you have chosen to find and confirm the popularity of the relevant keyword term or phrase that you want placed on the first page of the Google search engine. Then start writing press releases using fresh keyword rich focussed specific content. Remember not to use press releases to advertise your business, product, service or opportunity. Show people the benefits, to them, of using your business, product, service or opportunity.

To advertise is completely the wrong approach. People are sick and tired of being advertised to in order to be sold something. People are looking for good information about aspects that can help them build an effective, profit creating successful business. This is called relationship marketing and is an important key to successful search engine optimisation.
