5 Steps to Make More Profit with Link Popularity

Profitable link popularity is one of many ways to boost your search engine rankings and attract more potential customers. In fact, research shows that people dont even go to the second page of search results very often--they usually find what they need in the first page. Here are 5 steps to help you get in the first page.

1. Link with Important Sites

Make sure you get your backlinks from relevant and important websites. For instance, if you are in the lawn and garden business, getting a link from a clothing store wont do much for you. Go for links from seed suppliers, lawn care specialists, sprinkler sales and repair businesses, etc.

2. Dont Trade Links

Search engines pick up on this and consider it cheating. If you want a valid link, it should be one way. One way to do this is to simply call and ask for one. Dont send emails to the webmaster--frequently they end up in the trash as spam. Call on the phone.

3. Offer Something In Return

Well if you cant trade links what should you do? Write them an article that they can post for free. For your fictitious garden business, write a short article on fertilizing roses for the spring, or winterizing them later.

4. Be an Expert in Your Field

Even if you have to hire the writing done, post articles on your subject matter. This will establish you as someone to be taken seriously and will likely bring you more links. Link popularity often depends simply on popularity.

5. Update the Links

If you change your website location, URL, or alter anything that will cause links to break, you will have to reestablish them. Keep track of where they are and keep them fresh.
